Soulmask Update 1.2.46: Relic and Spell Fixes

Soulmask Update 1.2.46: Relic and Spell Fixes
Overview
Patch 1.2.46 is a small but meaningful maintenance update for Soulmask. It focuses on polishing the behavior of several unique spells and fixing a handful of relic-related bugs that affected buffs, damage calculations, and visual effects. No new content or major systems are introduced in this release; instead, the development team used the update to tighten up mechanics players have reported as inconsistent.
Spell and Naming Adjustments
Two gameplay-facing changes made it into this version:
- The Unique spell Reverse Casting has been expanded. Previously it only reversed the casting animation of affected spells; now it also reverses the recoil generated during casting, making its interaction with other effects more consistent.
- The enemy previously known as Corrupted Archmage has been renamed to Cursed Archmage. This is a naming change only and does not affect stats or behavior.
Relic Bug Fixes
Several relics received fixes to correct inconsistent or broken behavior:
- Prospector's Pickaxe: The panel display could show an abnormal value when the player was holding a very large amount of coins. The actual damage bonus calculated correctly in all cases; only the on-screen number was affected, and that display issue is now resolved.
- Rageful Eye: Under certain conditions, the buff granted by this relic could drop into negative values, effectively working against the player instead of benefiting them. This has been corrected.
- Magician's Robe: Upgrading or downgrading this relic previously caused the extended arm size effect to scale incorrectly, multiplying based on the player's body size rather than applying as intended. The scaling now behaves correctly across upgrade tiers.
- Fierce Dragon Breath: This spell was not responding to the Reverse Casting effect as expected. It is now properly affected by Reverse Casting, in line with the broader spell adjustment described above.
- Capacity Expansion Stone + Boundary-Breaking Stone: Combining these two items could, in certain situations, freeze the game entirely or cause the wand's final stat settlement to behave abnormally. This combination has been fixed and should no longer cause crashes or miscalculations.
Visual Fixes
Two cosmetic issues were addressed in this patch:
- Shadow Serpent and Sword of Judgment had abnormal shadow rendering under some conditions. The shadow effects for both items now display correctly.
- The Hive Overlord's stealth slash animation displayed incorrectly after being affected by the Collapse Crystal dye effect. This visual inconsistency has been fixed, and the animation now renders properly regardless of dye state.
What This Means for Players
None of the changes in 1.2.46 alter core progression or introduce new content, but they remove several sources of frustration for players who rely on the affected relics and spells. The Capacity Expansion Stone and Boundary-Breaking Stone fix is particularly notable, since the previous bug could cause full game freezes — a serious stability issue that is now resolved. Players using Magician's Robe, Rageful Eye, or Prospector's Pickaxe in their builds should also see more predictable and accurate results going forward.
Overall, this update reflects ongoing maintenance work rather than a feature expansion, aimed at making existing systems behave as originally intended.
