Iceland DLC: Release Date and Trailer Revealed
SCS Software has confirmed the release date for the Iceland expansion of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and published an official video trailer highlighting what truckers can expect from the new map.
A Land Shaped by Fire and Ice
Iceland is presented as one of the most visually distinct additions to the game so far. The DLC recreates the island's volcanic terrain, glacial ice fields, black sand beaches and dramatic coastlines, giving players a very different driving environment compared to previous expansions.
New Destinations and the Ring Road
The map includes 14 cities and settlements, among them Reykjavík and Akureyri. Players will travel along a recreation of Iceland's famous Ring Road, which links major towns, smaller settlements and remote coastal stretches. Each section of the route is designed to offer a different look at the island's geography, from open plains to narrow mountain passes.
Landmarks Along the Way
Several real-world natural landmarks appear on the map, including:
- Jökulsárlón
- Goðafoss
- Gullfoss
- Seljalandsfoss
- Víkurfjara
- Geysir
- Þingvellir
The DLC also introduces narrow, single-lane bridges where drivers must yield to oncoming traffic, adding an extra layer of realism to certain routes.
Industries and Deliveries
Beyond scenery, Iceland brings new delivery destinations. These include custom-built farms and quarries, as well as a dedicated silica factory located in Húsavík, giving the region its own distinct economic flavour within the game's logistics network.
Lighting and Atmosphere
Two additional details are meant to boost immersion:
- Under the right conditions, the Northern Lights can appear in the night sky during deliveries.
- Daylight hours are adjusted to reflect Iceland's real-world seasonal timing, meaning day length will vary accordingly.

The Iceland DLC can already be wishlisted on Steam, and the official trailer is available on SCS Software's YouTube channel. A specific release date was confirmed alongside the trailer reveal, positioning Iceland as the next major geographic expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2.
