Counter-Strike 2 Update: Glove Visuals, Crosshair Fixes, and Warehouse Lighting Overhaul

Counter-Strike 2 Update: Glove Visuals, Crosshair Fixes, and Warehouse Lighting Overhaul

Counter-Strike 2 Update: Gloves, Crosshairs, and Warehouse Lighting

Valve has released a new Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) update focused on visual polish, bug fixes, and stability rather than major new content. The patch touches several corners of the game, from cosmetic presentation to map lighting and crosshair rendering accuracy.

Equipped Gloves Now Visible in Photobooth and Buy Menu

The most player-facing change in this update concerns agent cosmetics. Previously, the photobooth photography feature did not reflect a player's equipped gloves, creating a mismatch between a player's actual loadout and how it appeared in these in-game screenshots. Agents now correctly display their equipped gloves during photobooth sessions. The same fix extends to the buy menu, where agent models now show the currently equipped gloves rather than a default or outdated appearance. It's a small but welcome consistency fix for players who invest in cosmetic items.

Crosshair and Dialog Fixes

Crosshair accuracy matters for competitive play, and this update resolves a specific rendering issue: when crosshair thickness was set to 3 pixels, the grenade crosshair did not render correctly. This has now been fixed, giving players who prefer thinner crosshairs accurate visual feedback when lining up grenade throws.

Valve also fixed a formatting issue in the titles shown within the commend and report dialogs. While cosmetic in nature, this improves the readability of tools players use regularly to moderate and recognize behavior in matches.

Warehouse Map Lighting Improvements

The Warehouse map received updated lighting in this patch. Valve did not provide granular details on the specific changes, but lighting passes like this typically aim to improve sightlines, balance shadow intensity, and keep player models and objects clearly visible throughout the map. Updates of this kind often follow internal testing or community feedback identifying areas where poor lighting made gameplay harder to read.

Workshop Convars Whitelist Updated

Following the introduction of new crosshair settings in recent updates, Valve has updated the workshop convars whitelist to include these additional options. This allows community-made workshop maps and game modes to properly reference the newer crosshair customization settings without being blocked by an outdated whitelist configuration.

General Stability Improvements

As is typical for CS2 updates, this patch also includes general stability improvements. Valve has not detailed the specific technical changes, but such updates usually target client reliability, addressing issues that can affect crashes or performance consistency during play.

What This Means for Players

Overall, this update is a maintenance patch rather than a content release. It won't change how matches play out strategically, but it cleans up several rough edges:

  • Cosmetic gloves now display correctly in the photobooth and buy menu.
  • Players using a 3-pixel crosshair thickness will see the grenade crosshair render properly.
  • Commend and report dialog titles display with corrected formatting.
  • Warehouse should look and play better thanks to refreshed lighting.
  • Workshop creators can now use the newer crosshair convars without whitelist issues.
  • Underlying stability fixes should contribute to a smoother overall experience.

Players who frequently use the photobooth feature, prefer thin crosshairs, or regularly play Warehouse are likely to notice the clearest benefits from this round of fixes.
